Day 1 - From Singapore to Wuhan

September 14, 2010 will be marked as the memorable day for me. It’s the day where everyone are going to Wuhan for our OIP trip. First of all, after all the checking, packing, buying and sourcing of all the necessary items for Wuhan trip, I finally left my house at 9am early in the morning. After having Mac in my neighborhood , I proceed to a nearby bustop to take 858 to Changi airport. Journey to changi Airport is torturing. The bus driver was driving very slow, I guess at the speed of 40-50km per hour? Well after an hour plus, I finally reached the airport.

At Changi Airport :D

Saw afew of my classmates were already there , preparing for the check-in all sorts of stuffs. (eg Collecting passport, giving out the tags.)
We checked in at around 12pm and we go and have our lunch at a 24hr food court. For your information, the food in the food court were not cheap, so if next time you guys are going overseas, better bring more cash with you :D …

Alright , after lunch, everyone gather at the boarding area and was preparing to board the plane from Singapore to Guangzhou. The total journey of the flight is around 4hours. Nothing to do in the plane, so started to chit chat and joke around with my classmates throughout the journey. Took an hour of nap too, felt very tired after settling all the stuffs like checking in , carrying my bag etc. After the 4 hours of flight, we reached Guangzhou at around 7pm.

On the plane!!

After custom clearance and the check in, we went together as a group to Mac to had our dinner. Once finished, we all proceed to the check-in area and wait for our flight. Due to some delays of the plane, we board the plane at around 930. It’s a 1hour plus journey and we finally reached Wuhan at around 1130pm.
Waiting to board the plane to wuhan

After picking up our luggage, we proceed to the bus which will bring us back to the hostel. here's the most tiring part where we guys need to carry up the luggage through windows and from the bus door. Imagine carrying 10plus kg of luggage up and down the bus. Okay after settling all the stuffs, we still need to take a 1hour journey of bus ride to our hostel.
This bus is our "storage" for our luggage

The journey from the airport to hostel is the most memorable. For every distance travelled in the highway, we can experience different “smell” of the air. This is how polluted Wuhan is.

As for our Hostel Room, it’s quite good. More than what I myself expected. Its clean and the bed is confortable.

Self-reflection :
Overall i find that for just 12 hours of journey from Singapore to Wuhan it marks the begining of a learning experience. Firstly was independence which leads to bonding. Independence is being build up once our parents are no longer by ourselves. No longer to rely on them and this is where i feel that friends starts to bond when we help each other. Starting to take care of each others belonging, checking out with each other whether they are alright are all sorts of simple actions which makes friendship stronger.
Second staying in singapore comparing to Wuhan is really a great difference. After personally experience how china is about, i find that singapore is really a clean and green country which we should be statisfied with what we have now. Singapore air are really cleaner as compare to wuhan.

Well that’s all for today, Signing off now !
