Day 24 - INTERACTION WITH LOCAL STUDENTS!

October 7 , 2010 It's interaction day with local students in the afternoon! After PM lecture in the morning, we all went back to hostel to get ourself ready for today's activity. Well since it's a BBQ in the afternoon, we all went to the provision shop to buy the necessary stuffs for BBQ. Drinks, snacks all sorts of stuffs are bought for the BBQ secession and off we go at around 12pm. The BBQ pit was somewhere near 建设五路 and it took us around 1 hour journey of walking! VERY TIRED once we reached that place because it's very far away from our campus.
We get started by laying mats on the floor and begin to do those necessary preparations. Starting up fire, cut and poke those hotdogs and mushrooms.

After that , i went to a open area where there's alot of sports for us to play. Table tennis , Badminton, Basketball etc. Today i learn another new skill in my life. I finally know how to play table tennis today. Thanks to 沈平(shen ping) , one of the local student who teach me how to play table tennis! Thank you 沈平！Well i got hooked on that sports and i keep on playing it.. Table tennis is fun!

Other than playing table tennis i also play basketball , badminton with the local students. Well they are much better than me in sports because they do practice frequently, unlike me :(

After whole activity ,we all left the place together and went back to hostel to rest. What a day, What meaningful and enjoyable day for me ...

Self-reflection :

Thinking back today about the BBQ secession in the afternoon, i find that it's a good experience for us to have such interaction with them. First is to get to know them more , second is to know more of their lifestyle. For example, The way their BBQ and us in Singapore is totally different. They BBQ cabbage, mushrooms , meat , 馒头(Buns) etc while for us is Fish, seafood, meat, marshmallow and alot more. They use oil instead of butter to apply on the food too. Well this is what we should know, their way of doing stuffs are different from us which can distinct show a difference between both country. But what really important is that through this interaction , i have know more friends and this is the best thing i ever experience today! :)..

Day 23 - Project discussion + Shopping

October 6, 2010 as usual PM lesson from 9am to 10+am today. First Ms hock give us a introduction about the Secondlife stuffs in the virtual world. Telling us how to use that program to communicate with people around us and around the world.

After that we continue on our lecture until 10+ am and ms hock release us early for us to do our project. So after lesson we all went back to hostel to put our stuffs and head for our lunch!

Today my lunch was Mutton soup noodles. Very tasty and the soup is filled with a strong aroma of mutton!

After lunch, we all head back to hostel to do our project discuession and the cultural performance discuession too. But before starting projects, i went to have a hair cut since i find that my hair is quite long. So i went together with Liangxun and the whole cutting process is an eye opener for me! The process of cutting hair in Singapore and in Wuhan is totally different!

First they help me to wash my hair , then hair cut , then wash hair again and lastly it's Styling! Woo whole process is so fun and it's a new experience for me!

Once project discuession is done , most of us went to 建设七路 to had our dinner. After that we also went to their streets there to buy some stuffs after dinner. Well didn't manage to buy any stuffs except one key chain i guess. But did alot of bargaining and stuffs for the girls since they are all shopping manic! haha...but well kinda sad where we didn't mange to reach on time in the hostel by 1015pm even though we cab back to our hostel. Got fine for 20bucks being late but it's okay since its our fault for not obeying the curfew.

Self-reflection :

Very happy today! mange to get a hair cut after few hrs of thinking and consideration whether to cut or not. Well i did make the right choice because i atleast can experience the whole process of hair-cutting. It's really an eye opener for me as i don't really go out to a barber to cut my hair as most of the time my mum does that! haha...Also let us know more about the difference between singapore's Cab and China's Cab. Mostly china's Cab has a grills covered in between the car whole in singapore there isn't. I think this is more on a security purposes as this is to protect the driver from people. Well that's all for today, Looking forward for tomorrow's activity which is interaction with the local students! Cya all!

Day 22 - Normal day

October 5 , 2010 its a normal day for me today. Nothing much happening today. Morning lesson was PM lecture teaching about PERT while in the afternoon was PM practical revision. During lunch time, we all went to eat the 炸酱面 again since some of them didn't tasted it before except Jia li , eliza and me. So we all bring them there to try including Mr chia. After lunch, mr chia head back to school while some of us hang around in 建设二路 for a walk. Bought some yougurt in the super market and finally got the chance to taste the "Haw Candy" ( 冰糖葫芦).




After that , we went to take a group photo in front of the first building in WUST main enterence, then we go for our practical lessons for revision. Revision was a headache for me! Did alot of the questions but i still cant get the wrong answers. In the end luckily hao teng help me with it , if not i wont be able to complete and understands how the systems goes. Thanks !

Up next was to went back to bunk and rest. Dinner was in 快乐厨房 where a group of us went there for dinner as usual. Oh thanks to the lady boss for 4 eggs. Instead of selling me the eggs, she gave me free .. WAHAHA THANK YOU!! :) Well thats all for today... LASTLY HAPPY BIRTHDAY 18th Biwen( sec fren ).

Self-reflection :

Well it's already Day 22. Time really flies faster than the speed of light. roughly another 10 more days i will be returning back to singapore. I haven even enjoy and yet it's soon going to end.. NOOO!! Well what i can think was to cherish time now. Make use of it to the fullest! HAHA. Well, other than enjoying, projects work and exams are coming really soon. Less than a month, we are going to seat for PM exam and do our presentation. I guess it's time for me to enjoy and work together at the same time again! WOO!

Day 21 - TEST DAY!

October 4 , 2010 FIRST TEST ever taken in WUHAN! It's PM class test today. Woke up at 9 am to wash up and do some preparation before going to class at 10am. Well as for the test, as usual my old habit comes back and make my marks fly away again. i forgot to wear a watch thus didnt manage the time well. Nevermind, i will take it as a wake up call again!

Lets not talk about test, getting sick and tired ! Today lunch was totally a new experience! Today jia li , Eliza and me went search for a new stall for lunch since we are sick of other restaurant. On my way i bought a small chicken to try in a stall which sells different part of those meat like duck, chicken, etc. Well it cost me 23 RMB but and its taste cold instead of hot. But it taste great because even though it's cold , the taste still remains there.

After that while walking, we saw a stall selling 炸酱面 ( zha jiang mian ) so we just went inside because we are too hungry. It turn out to be good , less oily compared to our campus canteen!

After lunch around 1 pm plus, we all went back to rest and get ready to do our projects. We do all the way till 7pm plus and had our dinner, then continue all the way till we completed it at around 11pm plus....well that's my day... cya !

Self- reflection :

Today, not much happening for me because it's just like a normal day for me . Just want to remind myself again during test, i really need to have a nice time management if not i wont be able to complete the whole test paper even though it's an 1 hour 30mins paper. Thanks to Mr Chia who extended another 10mins if not i would have lost 14 marks for nothing. Well i know this paper i cant score , but atleast i know where are the points which i need to improve on. Hopefully this is a stepping stone for me and when it's time for the final paper it's my scoring time! :) Got to go now, Bye guys !

Day 20 - THEME PARK! FTW

October 3 ,2010 its THEME PARK DAY! Today had a great fun in theme park. Didn't been there since for the long time in singapore. Woke up as usual in the morning at 9am and we all head to grab a bite at 堕落街 before we went to take BUS 549 to 中山公园. The journey takes around 1hour plus and in the bus is full of people. So everyone does not get a seat.

We reached there around 10plus am in the morning and the whole area were already flooded with people. Alot of parents were bringing their children to the theme park even though it's only 10am plus in the morning. Took a few pictures through out the whole journey, Enjoy this ! :)

Took a few rides in the theme park. Pretty thrilling and fun and head will start spinning once finishes the rides. Well i remembered a few games i played in the theme park when i was young. HAHA

After playing, we all went to a shopping centre nearby and we found a food court call "Food merlion" which sells all Singapore local dishes! I bought a Curry chicken for myself. Because i am too hungry so i forgot to take picture for that.... but well here's the company's logo :D

Self-reflection :

It's a fun day for me as almost everybody went together to the theme park and play crazily even though there's a test on monday! It has been a long time ever since i step into theme park. Well even though people might think that singapore's theme park are more fun than china's but for me, i find both are roughly the same. Well when walking to the theme park, there's a few kids holding roses on their hand targeting people especially guys to buy their rose. The most unique thing is that the kids will keep on pester and stuff the rose to their pocket. I feel that what they do might be due to survival purposes. As in because in order to earn a living they have no choice but to use such method. This make me think that our singapore children are really leading a good life. I guess this will be kept in my mind to remind myself that we should really cherish the life we had now and be happy! :)

Day 19 - Shopping SPREE FTW !

September 3 , 2010 ITS SHOPPING SPREE DAY but i overslept and missed the meeting time early in the morning at 9am. It's a joke right? HAHA but well too tired after doing blogging. I was actually woked up by the noise outside my bunk at 9am. I woke up at 9am and i got no choice but to go ourself to the 江汉路. Well i slacked all the way till 12pm and had out lunch in bunk. Called for a delivery from the vegetarian stall. To be honest everyone is already being hooked by the vegetarian food because it's really delicious! ( esp the 茄子带鱼) HAHA.

After lunch we set off at around 1245pm to the bus stop and took 588 to 江汉路 for 14 stops at around 40mins. Well today will be very crowded than usual because it's weekend and its public holiday i guess since China national day was just only yesterday.

Because we all go at different timing so Nicholas, Yuhaw and me walk together while Hanhui ,Edward, Agnes and yixian walk their own ways. We took around 2hours plus to walk almost finish the whole 步行街 in 江汉路. Seen alot of autumn wears selling in shops with alot of discounts given from 20% up to 90% discounts!
After that we went to 大娘dumpling restaurant to had our dinner. This time liangxun joined us while Nicholas joined the other group for shopping. Very complicating right? keep changing people.... Once finished dinner, we headed back to hostel to put our stuffs and we went to 建设二路 to buy some supper. I bought MAC back to hostel and took our supper with Liangxun and Michelle. Well i guess it's getting late... End of today's story, going theme park tomorrow! Cya !

Well, this is random. I took it when i was on the way back to hostel. I find it that our main building is very beautiful when it's taken in the night!

Self-reflection :

Indeed it's a good experience today during shopping in 江汉路. Crowded places will easily attract theft. Yuhaw have encountered one who the theft unzip his bag when he was looking for some shirt. Well luckily there's nothing in his bag so nothing is lost. So a piece of advice for everyone is Please put your belongings on your body, don't put inside the bag. As for females hold the bag tightly. Staying alert is the most important key!

Today i notice how those stalls attract customers to come into their shop. On top of posters, they also call a few salesperson to stand at the entrance and keep shouting. Once entered the shop there will be a repeat announcement keep repeating the same old thing. It's very different compared to Singapore shopping centres or shop. I guess they are doing this because there's too much competition between each other so they have no choice but to keep repeat the announcement so that people will come and patronise their shop!... Alright that's all for today, need to turn in if not i will be late for theme park TOMORROW !

Day 18 - Happy National Day China~

October 1 ,2010 happy national day china! Woo local students have 7 days of holiday.. Cheers for them But i still need to go and attend PM lessons. Oh well, nevermind faster clear finish module = more time for free and easy!

Today early in the morning when we wanted to go to the back street to buy our breakfast, we received a notice that the backgate will be locked permanently beginning of 1st october. IT MEANS THAT WE NEED TO GO 1 BIG AROUND IN ORDER TO GO TO THE 堕落街TO BUY FOOD. This is a bad news for us. I heard that its to encourage local students to dine in their canteen and also for security purposes.

Next is lunch once again in 柠檬乐 with Mr chia and Haoteng and the other group of girls. As usual 3-4dishes we ordered and after that they all went back to hostel while i walk around trying to find a optical shop. i walked 1 hour plus and i finally a optical shop! Fixed up my glasses near 建设二路 and i tour around that area once again, looking for nice food and places for shopping!

After that, i went back to hostel to rest and wait for yuhaw they all to take dinner. Dine in Mac since everyone is already sick of 柠檬乐and快乐厨房.

After mac, everyone went for a shopping spree! Walk around 建设二路 with alot people together. Fun thing about shopping is the bargaining part where both the buyer and seller trying to negotiate for the best price. Well thats all for today, Nothing much for today... haha Cya!

Self-reflection :

Well what i can reflect today was the permenant closure of our backgate near the hostel. I feel that closing the backgate do have their pros and cons. Firstly Pros is convenience for people like as who stay near the hostel. We can simply just go to the backstreet ( 堕落街) to grab a bite without walking a big round. However cons is once the backgate is closed, we need to walk around 200m to another sidegate and walk another 100m to reach the street. Security level will also increase as there's less people entering and exiting the gate. I guess management set the rules is because of security problem. Second thing is shopping at 建设二路, as it's the china national day. Whole street is flooded of people where it's similar like Chinese new year in Chinatown. It give me a feeling that it seems like everyone is celebrating the national day together regardless whether they are china citizens. Its really an enjoyable moment walking down the street.....
