Day 12 - 2nd day in 3 gorge (continue from day 1~)

September 28 , 2010 continuing from day1 in cruise. I didn't manage to sleep early even though its on cruise. We are all waiting for the second Lock which says the be one of the biggest lock passing through the 3 gorges. So after the first lock, we all went back to room to play cards , watch tv etc . Once there's announcement, we all will rush out from the room to the deck of the cruise to view the locks. Took quite alot of pictures since we got nothing to do, but cant upload all in blog because it will flood the blog with alot of pictures. AHAHA! okay lets take a look on my day 2 journey ...

After this we all went to nap and woke up early in the morning to proceed to another tourist attraction in 3 gorges . Woke up at around 7am to take breakfast and then went back to sleep until 10am before alighting the cruise to take a small boat to tour around the 神女溪. Here are some of the pictures i took.

After lunch , we proceed to another tourist attraction called 白帝城 which its a temple preserve long ago. Before reaching the temple ,we need to climb 400steps up to the temple. Its VERY tiring!! But i manage to walk up in the end! Here are some of the pics!

Self-reflection :

Today we had tour quite a few tourist attraction. First is the 神女溪followed by the 白帝城. Firstly for touring the 神女溪 in the gorge, it reminded me of the times when i was in taiwan touring the tarako gorge. It brings me back to the days where i also enjoyed alot with my secondary buddies and never forget what my Geography teacher told me about the formation of the gorge. As i think of it, it's rather fortunate for me to encounter such experience again. Next tourist attaction on 白帝城 is also another experience for me where i seems to be teleported back to the past where the surroundings were exactly what Tv shows. Also from there, we can view beautiful scenery at the top of the 白帝城. Thats all for today, Good bye!

Day 11 - 3 gorge tour , HERE I COME !

September 24 , 2010 is the first day of our trip to 3 gorges. Feeling very excited because its my 1st time taking cruise. Packed everything and get ready to set off our journey to the 3 gorges. The total journey from our hostel to the 3 gorges was 5 hrs. Alright hop in and lets go!

After boarding the cruise , we put our belongings and went up to the deck of the cruise to view the whole scenery. On top of that, everyone is waiting the cruise to pass the Locks. I took some of these pictures so enjoy!

Self-reflection :

Today is the touring of the 3 gorges in 宜昌. I feel very excited because stated above in my blog that it's my first time taking a cruise. Also i heard from alot of people that 3 gorges had alot of beautiful sceneries for people to take photo. In singapore i doubt we have a gorge. As for passing the locks, i find that its a new experience for me and everyone. I did study the whole process of passing the locks during Maritime Management but personally expericing this whole process is totally another feeling. Its a new experiece where not everyone got the chance to have it unless they come to 3 gorges or panama /suez canal.Well i will keep on update for these few days throughout the whole journey. Hopefully i am able get some pictures for you guys. Thats all for today...

Day 10 - Off Day, Filled with activities !

September 23, 2010 OFF DAY for us to do project but i finished it with my group members yesterday. Woot so its a FREE and EASY day for me , no need alarm to wake me UP Cheeerssss !!! Finally had a nice long sleep without waking up early in the morning at 8++am. Thats torturing, waking up early and sleeping late everynight because of blogging and others stuffs. well lets not talk about that, Let me share with you guys what i do today.

SLACK all the way in the morning till lunch where i went to had my lunch with my friends in 快乐厨房. Ordered a few dishes ... most of the food we ate were roughly the same so no point posting the pictures again : p
More exciting parts comes after lunch when i am so bored till i went out myself to explore more stuffs alone. I walk all the way from hostel to near end of 建设二路.
this time round there's no one tag along with me. Seems like a solo tour in china. Well i took quite a few pictures which i find it interesting and hardly get to see them in singapore. ENJOY

Thats what i tour near around my campus when i was bored. Total total time taken is around an hour. After that i went back to hostel to meet up with yuhaw and hanhui and preparing to set of to another advanture to WALMART. Meet up with zhen zhao and other local students to had our dinner with them in a restuarant call 三十三间堂. The food are all the local food in wuhan which are full of chilli and chilli oil. But it suits my taste because i eat everything! Well checkout with those photo taken....

After finished our dinner, we went to walmart to have a walk and i found some interesting stuffs inside there. Take a look at this picture below. Prawns are all cooked and poured inside this chiller. This is my first time to see the prawns being poured inside instead of being kept in packets or in ice. Same as the beef below~

After Walmart-ing we went back to the hostel because it's already quite late. But thats not the end of the day. We went to to light up the 许愿灯 at a open space near our hostel. Writing all our wishes on the lanturn and then we release it into the sky. Fun and new experience for me~ well end of today, bye guys

Self-reflection :

Different experience different learning. Well today best experience for me was the releasing of the lanturn because in Singapore we don't get a chance to do so. We will be FINED if we do that ... Sigh Well its nice for release that lanturn up to the sky. Very beautiful as it fly up to the sky, it seems like a small balloon flying in the sky. I guess releasing lanturn in china is very common because this should be one of their traditions. Just that in singapore because of safety purposes, it Banned people from releasing it. Well eye opener for me.. thats all for today... bye !

Day 9- Mid Autumn Festival

September 22, 2010 MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL is here!!! Cheers. First of all, happy mid autumn everybody! Today was a great start ahead, early in the morning the temperature is around 16-18 degree I guess? It’s drizzling whole day and when the wind blows, it’s very cold. This is my first time experiencing such weather. Today as usual we had lessons whole day. PM practical 1st , followed by the PM, learning on resource scheduling.

Practical is thought by Mr Chia, which he started to do practical 1 and 2 using the Microsoft office project. This practical lesson thought us how to plan our project using the software. It’s like a planner which helps us to sort out our activities and show us the date and time with a Gantt chart. Not bad, learn quite a lot of new things today using this new program. After lesson, it’s lunch time. All of us spilt into different groups to take have our dinner. Yuhaw, Han Hui, YiXian and I went to the vegetarian stall and ate our lunch. Didn’t call for delivery because it’s raining, so didn’t want the person to get wet so we walked to their stall and eat. Well ordered some of the dishes which contains tofu, fish etc. Sorry, was too hungry so forgot to take photos.

Next, Yuhaw went to buy a hammer to break open his lock. This is a joke where he locked his luggage this morning and when he went back to hostel he can’t open his luggage so he went to buy the hammer. In the end the lock is opened after it has been hammered a few times. Then we proceed back to class for PM. Today was resource scheduling. Well today I didn’t really catch what ms hock talking because of the nice weather which keeps making me to fall asleep. But I managed to settle my assignments and understand what the topic is all about. Also, after assignments we are being released to do our project planning. So we went back to our hostel and meet up in someone bunk to start our project.

We took a few hours to do our project I guess? Well after that we all went to have our dinner. As usual we all go our own ways. Today weather was so cold so we went to a restaurant and eat soup noodles at “Po luo” Street . But it turned out not as what I expected.


















After dinner was a mini celebration for mid autumn festival. Everyone was gathering at the corridors of the girl’s dorm eating moon cakes, drinking teas and having some activities. Even though this year is not able to celebrate with my parents, I am still celebrating with my friends in Wuhan. Okay end of story…. The end…

Self-reflections :
Its great celebrating mid autumn in Wuhan. First is because the weather is very cooling as compared to Singapore. How I wish Singapore have such cooling weather. I did ask one of the local student in WUST about the Mid-Autumn festival. Actually there’s not much difference comparing to Singapore. Just that they have a 3 day holiday which the students can go back home to celebrate with their family. They also do the same thing like us in Singapore, eating moon cake, drink tea and chit chatting with their family members. I guess the only different is Singapore children do carry a lantern and goes to the park and play. That’s it for today. Happy mid Autumn Festival!
